What Pennells Did

We don’t sell rugs ‘off the hook’ in our shop anymore but we do offer a bespoke rug service, which means you can essentially choose any carpet and have it cut to size and whipped or bound to finish it. We also work with a few brands who offer a rug building service, such as Crucial Trading & Alternative Flooring.

This rug is made up of Associated Weavers Magnificus in the colour Buttermilk with Alternative Flooring Cotton Herringbone binding in the colour Oxford.

We ordered a piece of the chosen carpet in from Associated Weavers and cut it down to the correct size in our warehouse, before then sending it off with the binding to be bound by a company called Hayden’s, based in Hastings, who we always deal with for our whipping and binding needs.

Once it was finished and back with us, we dropped it off to our customer, who very kindly sent these lovely photos over to us once the rug was in place.
